This was a logo I developed to accompany ComicsAlliance’s coverage of Superman’s 75th anniversary. It obviously never got used, which is a shame cuz I think it’s really cool.

Free Comic Book Day Haul.

Up top is free stuff: 2000 AD’s sampler (I really need to be reading Zombo), Marvel’s Infinity, Dark Horse’s Star Wars / Captain Midnight / Avatar, Oni Press’ The Strangers (which looks 110% My Kind of Thing™), the Valiant sampler (mostly previews and some pages from Harbinger Wars #1), Red 5’s Atomic Robo (always a good time), DC’s Beware the Batman / Teen Titans Go! flip-book, and a signed preview of Gilbert Hernandez’s Marble Season from D&Q.

At the bottom, stuff I bought: Two Love & Rockets collections, my pull-box from the last couple of weeks, which includes the $1 first issue of the Cyborg 009 reboot from Archaia, the last issues of Hawkeye, MLP (for my daughters, I promise), The Unwritten, Manhattan Projects and FF; and this gloriously Silver Age issue of Action Comics (#296) that includes an ant-headed Superman commanding a bunch of Super-Ants to capture Lois so he can make her his queen. Mort Weisinger, you were an intolerable butthole, but man, you sure knew how to make ‘em.

Not pictured: sausages from the Sausagefest truck, my kids’ impressive amassment of comics and three Slurpees for the ride back home.
