    calamityjon:  I've noticed that you favor bold letterforms, a simple but bright palette and the judicious use of textures in your design work - all of which I find really appealing. Do you have any other principles you consider to be part of your design toolbox?

    Hmmm. Make it look pretty?

    I don’t know. They say you shouldn’t develop a personal style in design because it hampers your thinking and problem-solving, but I always find that more often than not, I end up doing stuff that falls into the bold, colorful, simple, textural realm. Because that’s where my tastes lie and that’s what I feel the client or project required in order to get their/its point across.

    Design succeeds when it appealingly communicates the core idea without getting in the way too much. Everything else is just ornamentation.
