I know. I managed to see a few good ones without mom or dad finding out, though my conscience plagued me for weeks afterward. My friend Chris had cable and on sleepovers, we’d watch Ahnold movies (Predator, Running Man, Total Recall) and Stallone movies. Chris still loves some Stallone. My friend Sean had a taped-from-HBO copy of Aliens and we’d watch either that or Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure when I’d go over to his house after school in sixth grade. But it was pretty much catch as catch can, y’know? Die Hard never came on. The OG Terminator never came on. (Still haven’t seen it, though I saw the sequel.) No Carpenter movies; I only recently saw The Thing and They Live. Same thing with the Ridley Scott Alien, which was weird cuz I saw it and was like, “Oh, so this is the quieter, artier version of Aliens.” View high resolution
