Fear of Music was one of the first Talking Heads albums I owned, and it’s a weird (and kind of perfect) entry point. I got it on cassette, along with Stop Making Sense and Naked —  also on cassette — and Little Creatures on LP. Birthday presents from my dad. I had turned 14, I think. Within a few months, I had tracked down their entire catalog, with the exception of The Name of This Band Is, which took a lot of scouring before I finally found it at the used record store I haunted.
